Gawain Dyer, M.D.

San Antonio Eye Center is excited to announce the addition of our new vitreoretinal surgeon Gawain Dyer, MD. Dr. Dyer i s originally from Jamaica W.I. and grew up in New York City. He has trained throughout the country, just recently finishing his fellowship with the University of Missouri Kansas City/Sabates Eye Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS degree in psychology/chemistry from Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY where he received his MD. Afterwards he completed his internal medicine internship at Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, NY then subsequently completed an ophthalmology residency at Howard University in Washington, DC.

Dr. Dyer is very active in his professional community being a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and the National Medical Association. He remains active in clinical research and has played a role as a sub-investigator in several clinical trials. He has also given numerous research presentations and authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Dyer is a board-certified ophthalmologist and is fully trained to treat and perform surgery for all diseases of the vitreous and retina.
