Spencer Hayes, M.D.
Dr. Spencer Hayes is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery.
He graduated from Trinity University with a degree in chemistry, and was an active member of the track and field team.
He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center’s McGovern Medical School in Houston, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internship at the University of Texas Dell Medical School in Austin then went on to complete his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Hayes strives to provide an individualized plan of care for all of his patients to best address their unique needs. For his cataract patients, Dr. Hayes has experience with a wide variety of advanced technology intra-ocular lenses to help reduce their need for glasses after surgery. For patients with glaucoma, Dr. Hayes offers a wide variety of medical, laser, and surgical options. He has expertise with numerous minimally invasive glaucoma surgical techniques in addition to traditional glaucoma techniques, such as tube shunts and trabeculectomies.
He loves to spend time with his wife, children, and their dog. They are avid fans of walks in the park, frisbee, camping, and ping pong.
