Eddy Contreras, OD

Dr. Contreras is an optometric glaucoma specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, dry eye disease, and diabetic retinopathy. Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University before graduating magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2004. He then completed a residency in ocular disease at the Baltimore VA Medical Center in Maryland.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Contreras is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care and helping patients protect and preserve their vision. He believes in educating patients about their eye health and partnering with them to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Contreras lives in San Antonio with his two sons. Outside the office, he enjoys exercising, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
